there goes my laptop
I know you're not supposed to be sentimental about material things, but Ayumu "Kiyotaka"* was my first laptop, my first Macbook, my first bb.

And well,

..he's gone now.

I remember, I remember! Ah, those were Ayumu's Kiyotaka's better days. I felt like such an expecting mother back then... ;A;


His Logic Board (the Mac equivalent to a motherboard) crashed, and so did his fan. I was out of warranty, and didn't get Apple Care, so the repairs would cost almost... well, more or less 30-40k. *weep*

We decided to get a new one instead, because the new White Macbooks cost 55k -- the price really went down ever since the aluminum Macbooks came out. My mom and I deemed this a better solution rather than the pricey repairs.

Yeah, getting a new one's a better solution nga. Heck, 40k for repairs, when you can get a brand-new one for 55k? Wise money-spending decision. :)

Pfffft, it's perfectly fine to be sentimental over material things, especially when they've been so close to you. Let us always remember Ayumu as the cheery red Apple creation that he was. Through Cake Productions and program crashes. Through camwhoring and all-nighters. Through weird-ass browsers and lack of a right-clicking thingy.

Farewell, dear Ayumu, we hardly knew you.

Darn it, I was supposed to say something else, too. hax.

I dealt with the laptop's issue long enough to get a spare. But it was a pain to have to refix my entire system to my liking. Though it all went ok in the end since I got a nice laptop out of it, complete with a cool dragon sticker on the top.

Kinda cheap, Imma tell you when we meet. ;A; I agreed because we were buying the new one soon, and the money earned from Ayumu Kiyotaka will be used to buy Ayumu the new one. (You're right, this name change is confusing.)

I feel your pain :(( My Macbook finally died (no faffing about this time with that stupid folder with a question mark blinking in startup. Power connections finally wonked out) just two weeks ago and I honestly felt like my face turned to stone. Did you lose everything?

Aww, Mikki *hug*. Our Macbooks are somewhere in... Macbook heaven right now. I hope. ;A; Mine just started hanging continuously and never stopped doing it. It would randomly hang from time to time, no matter how many reformats they/I did. Ahuhuhu.

I lost a lot during the first reformat some time ago, but I managed to salvage my files before I sold it the other day. How about you?

b-but...I guess you had (a whole lot of) great times with AyumuKiyotaka, right? It was just unfortunate that he had to go so soon, tho.

actually, I know how you feel. I had the same, crestfallen feeling when Kazuki died on me. I'm actually feeling that way again, but in a detached manner now (yes, he's sick again)


(on the lighter side of things, I told my brother about your loss. He's actually quite interested about it. This is according to him:"Has she sold it already? If not, I'm interested in getting it". He'll prolly hunt down some people who might be able to fix it up~)

don't worry dear! look forward to the "new" Ayumu now~ (and hope he'll last longer than his predecessor..) *huggles you and gives you love* :D
